Looking At Mounted Mailboxes - We Picked The Perfect One!

We recently looked at many different mounted mailboxes and picked the perfect one for our home. The hunt began when the older lady next door came over in a tizzy because someone stole her credit card information from her mailbox and maxed out her cards. You can understand how nervous it made me when it happened just a few weeks before we were to go out of town for a short trip. That's when my husband suggested we get a more secure mailbox for the front of the house.

Of course, besides looking for security, I was more than glad to get rid of the old mailbox. It has been a thorn in my side since we moved here. The box didn't match the décor of the house and in fact, detracted from the appearance we worked so hard to insure. Before he changed his mind, I managed to get him in front of the computer to do some online shopping before the inspiration left his head.

Believe it or not, we really enjoyed looking at all the selections together. It was fun to discuss our different options. There were so many styles from which to choose it was difficult to select. After looking at the boxes for about an hour, I pulled a picture of the house from our file and photo shopped in the three boxes we both liked. They had security features my husband like and I wanted. All the mailboxes had style to add that much needed flair to the front of our home. While all three were vast improvements over the box we had, one seemed to enhance our lovely home more than the other two and we placed an order.

I waited anxiously for the new mailbox and when it came, opened the package the way a child opens presents at Christmas. The box wasn't a disappointment. It looked exactly like the one I picked out at the site. Immediately I ran outside and held it up to the side of the house. It was perfect. The only problem was waiting for my husband to mount it onto the house. While he's not exactly a carpenter, or even a good home remodeler, he has all the tools. Initially, I thought I might put it up since the directions seemed simple enough but worried that it might hurt his feelings.

When he arrived home he immediately installed our new mounted mailbox. It looked magnificent and really improved the appearance of the house. In fact, a few days later I happened to meet the mailman as he delivered our mail. He even made a comment on how attractive our new box looked. I feel good each time I retrieve the mail and more secure when I'm not home to get it immediately. Sometimes, I enjoy looking at the box so much, I'm tempted to sign up at different sites just to get junk mail. But then, I always reconsider. That's perhaps shows a little too much appreciation for mounted mailboxes.
